Janet E. Moffat, 78, of Sagamore Beach died on July 12 after a long illness.
Ms. Moffat was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of Carl and Anna (Larson) Lindberg. She was a graduate of Worcester North High School and Worcester State Teachers College.
She taught 5th grade in the Grafton school system, retiring in 1998, and was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association.
Ms. Moffat lived for many years in Grafton before moving to Sagamore Beach. She enjoyed gardening and reading and was a frequent visitor to Disney World in Florida.
She leaves her two children, Wendy Moffat and her partner, Kristen Grimes, of Littleton, and James Moffat and his wife, Stacie Moffat, of Rutland; and her two grandchildren, Jason and Danny Moffat, whom she called her “sunshine boys.” Ms. Moffat also leaves her sister, Melinda Johnson and her husband, Ron Johnson, of Paxton; three nephews; and four grandnephews.
Her former husband, Frank Moffat, died in 2010.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 21, from 4 to 7 PM at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester Street, North Grafton.
Services will be private.
