Joseph P. Giar Jr., 66, of East Sandwich died unexpectedly on April 27.
He was married to Karen (Vigilante) Giar for 43 years.
Born in Plymouth, he was the son of Joseph and Clara (Carruthers) Giar.
A former Manomet resident, he worked at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station for 38 years, retiring in 2010.
He was passionate about motorcycles and cars. He also enjoyed the beach and was an avid Boston sports fan.
In addition to his wife he leaves his son, Joseph J. Giar of Boston; his daughter, Laura Scena and her husband, Robert Scena, of Bourne; two grandchildren; his sister, Edith Moose; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his brother, William Giar; and his sister, Mary Lou Mills.
Visiting hours are Friday, May 2, from 4 to 8 PM in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich.
The funeral will be held at 11 AM Saturday, May 3, in the Second Church of Plymouth, 518 State Road, Manomet, followed by burial in Manomet Cemetery.
