Paul F. Ginnetty, 67, of Cotuit died July 4. Mr. Ginnetty leaves family in Sandwich.
The son of the late Arthur and Jeannette (Curran) Ginnetty, he was married to Annette (Carroll) Ginnetty for 41 years.
Mr. Ginnetty was a police officer with the Newton Police Department for 32 years. He was a parishioner of Parish of Christ the King in Mashpee, where he was a Eucharistic minister. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He also was a former resident of Westwood and Canton.
Traveling and fishing were a few of his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, to whom he was known as Fran.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Ginnetty leaves his children, Paul Ginnetty Jr. and his wife, Tami Ginnetty, of Redlands, California, Peter Ginnetty and his wife, Lindsay Ginnetty, of Centerville, Christopher Ginnetty and his wife, Katie Ginnetty, of Sandwich, and Anne Moore and her husband, Alex Moore, of Centerville; and his four grandchildren.
He also leaves his siblings, Arthur Ginnetty of Tarpon Springs, Florida, Catherine Ierardi of Holbrook, Maureen Sullivan of Avon, Neil Ginnetty of Auburn, New Hampshire, Jane Smallcomb of Hingham, and John Ginnetty of Plymouth; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ginnetty was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Ierardi, and his brother, Peter Ginnetty.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 9, from 4 to 7 PM at John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road, Marstons Mills.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 10, at 11 AM at Parish of Christ the King in Mashpee.
Burial will follow at Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit.
