Scott F. Bailey, 51, of Clearwater Beach, Florida, died on June 23 after a long illness.
Mr. Bailey leaves family in Sandwich.
Born in Weymouth and raised in Duxbury, Hyannis and Shirley, he graduated from Ayer High School in 1981.
As a youth Mr. Bailey excelled at skiing and hockey, representing Duxbury in the Bruins’ Mini One On One. He was also MVP of Ayer High School’s tennis team.
Mr. Bailey attended Mount Wachusett Community College and Fitchburg State College, where he majored in business. He served six years in the Massachusetts National Guard.
He relocated to Charlestown and later Clearwater Beach, Florida, while pursuing a successful career in sales.
Mr. Bailey enjoyed boating and golfing. He sank a hole-in-one on his 41st birthday.
Mr. Bailey leaves his parents, Donna Bailey of Onset and William Bailey of Morgan, Vermont; his stepmother, Darlene Bailey; his two sisters, Dawn Black and her husband, Bob Black, of Sandwich, and Susan Sullivan and her husband, Bruce Sullivan, of North Leominster; five nieces and nephews; and two great-nephews.
Visiting hours will be on Friday, June 27, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road, Marstons Mills, followed by a memorial service at the funeral home at 1 PM and burial in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit.
