Shirley E. Johnson, 89, of New Silver Beach, North Falmouth, died at the Royal Megansett Nursing & Retirement Home on April 25.
She was the wife of the late Wallace E. Johnson and the widow of Arthur G. Nelson.
Her parents were Otis and Katharyn Severance.
She worked for many years as an executive secretary at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, and elsewhere.
Ms. Johnson was a parishioner at North Falmouth Congregational Church and an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed gardening, bowling, reading, cheering for the Red Sox and volunteering at the church.
Ms. Johnson leaves two sons, Eric Nelson and his wife, Dee Dee Nelson, of Julian, California, and Jay Nelson and his wife, Vivian Nelson, of Culver City, California; one stepson, Carl Johnson and his wife, Kathy Johnson, of Gouldsboro, Maine; four stepdaughters, Suzanne Voelxen and her husband, Jim Voelxen, of East Sandwich, Danielle Cabral and her longtime partner, Jeff Gross, of Westport; Diane Cook and her husband, Steve Cook, of Marion, and Denise Arruda and her husband, Joe Arruda, of Bristol, Rhode Island; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service is to be held on Thursday, May 1, at 11 AM at North Falmouth Congregational Church, 155 Old Main Road, North Falmouth, followed by burial at 12:30 PM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
