Wayne C. Glover of Marstons Mills, who leaves family in Falmouth, died on April 1. He was 77.
Mr. Glover was raised in Cotuit. In 1954 he graduated from Barnstable High School, where he played football, basketball and baseball.
Shortly after graduating from high school, he served in the US Marine Corps. He returned to Cape Cod and later started Cape Cod Tree Service.
A big baseball and hockey fan, he pitched for the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League and coached in the Kennedy Memorial youth hockey program.
He enjoyed boat rides, clambakes and beach trips. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed shellfishing.
Mr. Glover leaves his daughter, Sarah Glover Good of Falmouth; his son, Mark Glover, and his wife, Patricia Glover, of Centerville; his former wife, Anne (Coleman) Glover of Marstons Mills; and three grandchildren, Jack Good of Falmouth, and Hannah Glover and Ben Glover, both of Centerville.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on April 11 at Mosswood Cemetery, Putnam Avenue, Cotuit, followed by a celebration of his life at Wequaquet Lake Yacht Club, 150 Annable Point Road, Centerville.
