William C. Orman, 81, of Sandwich died on May 11 at the Cape Heritage Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Sandwich.
He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Ann (Stokinger) Orman.
Mr. Orman was raised in New Rochelle, New York, and had previously lived in Stoneham for 25 years.
He served in the US Army and was a three-sport athlete in high school and college.
Mr. Orman was an educator in Massachusetts and New Hampshire for more than 40 years, retiring as principal of Stoneham Middle School in 1995.
He was inducted into the Most Blessed Sacrament High School, City of New Rochelle and Brandeis University halls of fame and was recognized as one of North America’s top 100 school executives.
Mr. Orman leaves three sons, Ted Orman and his wife, Allison Orman, of Bel Air, Maryland, Gary Orman and his wife, Lynn Orman, of Sandwich, and Paul Orman and his wife, Sabrina Rossetti; and 11 grandchildren.
Calling hours will be at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 South Main Street, Centerville, on Wednesday, May 14, from 4 to 8 PM.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 15, at 10 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 South Main Street, Centerville.
