I was dismayed to learn this spring that the Art Market was denied its venue in the Falmouth Town Hall Square. I am a musician and have performed at the market for the last five summers. Playing baroque flute duets and English country dances with the recorder player, Jan Elliott, was a unique occasion to hear sounds of old England ring in the New England summer air.
It is vital for artisans to show and sell their work, it is vital to musicians to perform, I certainly hope that the Falmouth Board of Selectmen will reconsider its decision and allow this lively, charming and viable event to flourish once again.
