There are over 30 events planned in 2014, with eight major events this summer to celebrate Cape Cod’s oldest town—Sandwich. There is something for every age and interest to enjoy: concerts, lectures, festivals, exhibits, reenactors and reenactments, hot air balloons, a clambake and even a parade.
The Sandwich 375 summer events are: June 14, Heritage Day; June 15, Heritage Hey Day; June 21, BASH 1700; June 25, Talk of the Town speakers series “Civil War”; July 19, BASH 1800; July 23, Talk of the Town speakers series “Petticoats at Sea”; July 26, SeaFest; August 2-3, Water Street Wing Fling; August 23, BASH 1900, and September 13, Grand Parade.
Help us celebrate. Join your neighbors and friends in our volunteer effort to celebrate Sandwich’s 375. We are looking for hundreds of volunteers in many different capacities. Choose the event that most appeals to you, and join us as we celebrate our town’s 375th year. Whether you are showcasing your hidden talent as a re-enactor, showing your smile as you greet people at the town hall, directing vendors to their stations, painting kids’ faces, or organizing marchers, we need you!
Or, perhaps you would like to participate in an event such as the march in the March of the Descendants on Heritage Day, compete in the cupcake competition on Heritage Day, put your car in the Water St. Wing Fling car show or have a float in the grand parade. There are lots of ways you can be part of the celebration.
