Police arrested a man from Forestdale after he broke into an acquaintance’s home while carrying a knife.
At 1:58 PM on Sunday, August 17, police responded to Guild Road, where someone had reported that their house had been broken into and they knew who the intruder was.
The male caller told police that Jeffrey A. Franklin, 34, of Forestdale had broken into the home and confronted the caller about a past relationship with a girl. The victim told police that Mr. Franklin had a knife on him at the time but that he did not brandish it.
An investigation was conducted, and a warrant was requested for home invasion and malicious destruction.
On Tuesday, August 19, Patrolman John Manley arrived at Mr. Franklin’s address on Artisan Way at 9:39 AM. Upon his arrival, Ptl. Manley saw Mr. Franklin leaving the home and tried to arrest him; however, Mr. Franklin pulled away in an attempt to flee. Ptl. Manley then tased Mr. Franklin to stop him from fleeing and was able to place him into custody.
Mr. Franklin was arrested on the warrant charges and for resisting arrest as well as on an outstanding warrant from Barnstable District Court.
