BHS Athletes Named To Spring All-Star Teams

Bourne High School honored its spring student-athletes recently.

On the BHS softball team, which reached the state tournament this season and finished 7-14, sophomore Renee Moore was named to the South Coast Conference All-Star team, with junior Erica Fleming and sophomore Molly Neil receiving All-Star Honorable Mention. The SCC Individual Sportsmanship Award for Bourne went to senior captain Brittany Roderiques.

Senior Jacob Longo and junior John Moylan were named SCC Honorable Mention in boys’ tennis. Junior Dan Baracchini received the SCC Sportsmanship Award.

The BHS baseball team compiled a record of 7-15 this season. Seniors Geoff Hite and Jimmy Commesso were named SCC All-Star Honorable Mention, with sophomore Tom Hidenfelter receiving the SCC Individual Sportsmanship Award. The Bourne baseball team received the conference Sportsmanship Award.

In girls’ tennis, Bourne went two rounds into the state tournament and finished 10-10. Senior Brie Girouard received SCC All-Star recognition, with senior Sarah Buck and junior Abby Pomeroy named SCC All-Star Honorable Mention. Senior Gabrielle Siroonian received the SCC Individual Sportsmanship Award.

Senior Dennis Rogers and junior John McWade were named to the SCC All-Star Honorable Mention team in boys’ track and field. Senior Curt Lieber received the SCC Sportsmanship Award.

Sophomore Megan Ladner received SCC All-Star recognition in girls’ track and field. Junior Sheehan Barton and eighth-grader Brianna Newell were named to the SCC All-Star Honorable Mention squad. Senior Amanda Pomeroy received the SCC Individual Sportsmanship Award. The Bourne girls’ team shared the SCC Team Sportsmanship Award with Seekonk.

The BHS girls' lacrosse team reached the quarterfinal round of the MIAA Division 3 South Sectionals, finishing with a record of 12-6-1. Seniors Shelby Corsano and Chelsea Doucette were named to the SCC All-Star team, with senior Keiran Jones and freshman Tess McCabe named SCC All-Star Honorable Mention. Senior Taylor Hebb received the SCC Individual Sportsmanship Award.

In BHS boys’ lacrosse, senior Caleb Castiglioni and sophomore Nick Pavilonis were named to the SCC All-Star Honorable Mention squad and senior Stephen Kelleher received the Sportsmanship Award. Dawson Prophett received the Coaches Award.
