Falmouth High Caps Successful Season

The Falmouth High School athletic department held their Fall Sports Awards last night with the Clipper field hockey team leading the list with four Atlantic Coast League All-Stars.

Anna Bohnenberger received ACL All-Star recognition and was nominated for recognition by the Boston Globe. Jennifer List, Brenna Callahan and Jennifer Estes were also named to the ACL All-Star team, with Alexandra Hamilton taking home the ACL Sportsmanship Award at the varsity level and Emilie Willis receiving the award at the junior varsity level.

Bohnenberger and List were co-recipients of the Coach’s Award at the varsity level, with Carly Finigan and Julia Dalton receiving the Coach’s Award for the JV squad.

In girls’ soccer Sarah Gordon, along with Tabitha and Jennifer Cardeiro, earned ACL All-Star honors, with Kathryn Burton claiming the Sportsmanship Award.Andrea D’Hedouville took home the Leadership Award in girls’ soccer. Most Improved went to Katie Molongoski and Suzanne Krishfield received the Team Spirit Award. At the JV level Kaylee Lino was named Most Improved, Anissa Lomba received the Team Award and the Coach’s Award went to Gwen Koontz.

Deven Soares and Robert Whelan were named to the ACL All-Star team in football, with Soares also taking home the Sportsmanship Award. Matt Dineen, A.J. Fernandes and Sam Burt were all recipients of the Coach’s Award in football. At the JV level the Coach’s Award went to Steven Senna and Christopher Souza. Caleb Brown, Jacob Castiglioni and Benjamin Crago received the freshman football team Coach’s Award.

Matthew Flynn and Matthew Liles were named to the ACL All-Star team in boys’ soccer. Flynn also received the Coach’s Award. Andrew Oberlander received the Sportsmanship Award.Coach’s Awards at the varsity level also went to McAlister Joyce and Patric Scavotto.

At the JV level Yigit Boyaciogiu, Matthew Choi, Ian Cicalis and Gus Grosenbaugh all took home Coach’s Awards.

Shannon Marcoux and Elizabeth Knox were named to the ACL All-Star team in volleyball, with Ashley Leblanc earning the Sportsmanship Award. Lindsey Meade, Emma Shanahan and Gina DiCecco were each recipients of the Coach’s Award on the varsity squad. Ann Vallier won the Ace Award at the JV level. Tiara Vaughn received the Rising Star Award, Grace Geary was named the Rookie of the Year and Angelina Deprizio received the Defensive Player of the Year Award.

In boys’ cross-country Benjamin Ouimet and James Barry were named to the ACL All-Star squad. Ouimet also took home the Sportsmanship Award. Addison Merryman received the Sportsmanship Award for the JV team and James Barry claimed the award at the freshman level.

Casey Gonsalves was named the Rookie of the Year in boys’ cross-country. Michael Janerico received the Leadership Award and Adam Brewster was named Most Improved.

Emily Botelho received ACL All-Star honors in girls’ cross-country and was named Most Dedicated. Elizabeth Rennie received the Sportsmanship Award at the varsity level, Molly Woods was the JV winner and Gabriella Steele took home the freshman Sportsmanship Award.

Sally Roundtree was named Most Coachable and Allison Gage took home the Leadership Award.

In boys’ golf Durham Ghelfi and Andrew Kelly were named to the ACL All-Star squad, with Griffin Guerin earning the Sportsmanship Award.

Coach’s Awards at the varsity level were presented to Matthew Kinchla, Sean Dugas and Ryan Lino, with John Robinson, Graham Davis and Derek Warren receiving the award at the JV level.

Erin Womboldt received the Sportsmanship Award in cheerleading, with Captain’s Awards going to Morgan McSweeney, Katherine Sisson and Brittaney Turner.
