The Blue Knight tennis team evened its record at 2-2 with a 3-2 victory over Marshfield on Wednesday.

Matt Martin cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at first singles. Christian Rossomando won in the second singles spot, 6-1, 6-2 and Justin Lerch made it a Sandwich singles sweep with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at third singles.

Martin gave the Knights their lone victory Monday in a 4-1 loss to Martha’s Vineyard. Martin posted a 6-3, 6-0 win at first singles.


Rossomando fell 3-6, 4-6 in the second singles spot and Vincent Tanguilig put up a fight, but came away with a 6-4, 1-6, 8-10 loss at third singles.

Both Sandwich doubles teams fell. Lerch and James O’Brien lost at first doubles 1-6, 1-6 and Jack Condon and Jack Casali fell 2-6, 2-6 at second doubles.

The Blue Knight boys’ tennis team swept the three singles matches and picked up a win at first doubles to deal visiting Falmouth a 4-1 loss on Friday. Martin led the charge at first singles, defeating his opponent 6-0, 6-0. Rossomando followed suit at second singles, also with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. At third singles Tanguilig had no trouble, winning 6-2, 6-0.

At first doubles Condon and O’Brien went three sets in coming back to win 3-6, 6-2 and 6-3. Marcus DeFelice and Ethan Carig came up short in the second doubles spot, falling 0-6, 0-6.

The Knights return to action today when they will host Plymouth North at 3:30 PM.
