Sandwich Track Falls Short To Eagles

The Lady Knights (0-2) track and field team came up short on Tuesday at Plymouth North, falling to the Eagles by a score of 91-45. Tory Sivco won the 2-mile for the Knights with a finish of 11:52 and Liz Wegman was a winner in the 400-meter posting a time of 63.8 seconds.

Bailey Maiato gave Sandwich a second in the triple jump at 29-5, followed by Jessica Lizotte in third at 29-4.5. Lizotte took second in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes and Maiato was third in the long jump at 14-2.5.

Megan Forrester took second in the high jump clearing 4-4 and Autumn Cotter was second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 79.9 and third in the discus at 53-8. Samantha Emerson took second in the javelin with a throw of 63-4. Staci Hopkins finished third in the shot put with a toss of 20-10.

The Sandwich boys (0-2) fell to the Eagles 100-36. Glen Tenney finished first in the 800-meter, posting a time of 2:14.4. He also took third in the shot put with a toss of 33-7. Brennen Tickell won the 1-mile with a time of 4:55.7 and the Blue Knight 4x400 team finished first.

Jake Carter ran second in the 100-meter (11.8) and 200-meter (24.5) and was third in the triple jump at 37-1. Matt Mullin was second in the 400-meter hurdles at 63.5 and also added a third place finish in the javelin with a throw of 112-1. Joey Downes ran second in the 400-meter (57.4) and Jake Cuppels took second in the 2-mile (10:57).

Nate Costa was third in the high jump clearing 5-2. Kevin Walker took third in the 800-meter (2:25.3) and Matt MacDonald ran third in the 2-mile with a time of 11:01.3.
