Robert Fluke made eight saves in goal and the Upper Cape Tech attack hammered away at the Cougars as the Rams (4-4, 3-4 MAC) notched an 11-4 Mayflower Conference victory on Friday, April 18, over Old Colony. UCT jumped on Old Colony early as they opened up the offense, spreading the ball around, with seven players hitting the net.
Jon Dumont and Dylan Derby each scored twice and added an assist. Seth Duggan and Jack Rogers also each tallied twice. The Rams got individual markers from Jarred Doody, who also had three assists, senior captain Alex Peterson, who collected two assists, and from Ryan Kiely.
“Our clearing game came up big,” coach Ernest Yeaw said, “especially in the second half. Sophomore midfielder Shane Windward dominated on the face-off and that was also big. Defensively Max Rogers, Austin Doody, Scottie Paradise and John Condon did a nice job for us.”
The Rams head for Old Colony on Monday, April 28, for a rematch scheduled for 3:30 PM.
