The Osterville Village Library will present an outdoor event celebrating the release of the new poetry anthology “From the Farther Shore: Discovering Cape Cod & the Islands Through Poetry” from Bass River Press on Saturday, October 30, from 1 to 3 PM. The public is invited to attend.

The collection includes 118 contemporary poems that meld the outer and interior landscapes of the Cape & Islands so that the reader discovers, as if for the first time, the spirit of a place that calls them home. Not only do these poems converse with one another, they are poems that could not have been written about anywhere else.

Several of the anthology’s poets will read their work at the launch, where the book will be available for purchase. The event is free. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair.

The Osterville Village Library is located at 43 Wianno Avenue in Osterville.
