OrangePeelMystic caught my attention a while back when I saw posters for shows they were putting on at Coffee Obsession. The posters featured hand-drawn colorful artwork with multiple bands on the bill. As someone who started out throwing shows at coffee shops, Amvets halls and pizza joints, it made me happy to see this. I think these kinds of do-it-yourself shows are a vital part of any music scene. They are a fun place for people to take a chance on something new and unique. Artists can develop their sound and style in these environments. I followed them on Instagram, where I got to check out the avant-garde music and accompanying visuals. OrangePeelMystic just released a new album, “Dinosaurs and Megaphones,” and have been touring the East Coast.
