Coffee O Brian Engles

Shown here singing the national anthem at a 2019 Falmouth Commodores’ game, Falmouth author, musician and filmmaker Brian Engles, who releases original music under the name Racing Days, will play a solo set this Sunday at Coffee Obsession in Falmouth.

Falmouth creative Brian Engles, who releases original music under the name Racing Days, will be playing a solo set at Coffee Obsession’s new customer seating space at 104 Palmer Avenue in Falmouth. The show is on Sunday, October 10, from 7:30 to 9 PM. Admission is $8. A face mask is required for entry.

Brian Engles’s solo performances incorporate backing tracks of electronic drums, bass, and synthesizers, alongside live electric guitar and vocals to create Racing Days’ versatile mix of indie songs. The opening act for the evening will be The Canvas City Band, consisting of Matt Liles on banjo and vocals and Brendan Sullivan on the upright bass. Lights and sound for the event will be run by Dario Palanza. All three are Falmouth residents.

Mr. Engles’s set will consist of songs from the whole Racing Days’ catalogue, which is available on streaming services, but this will be the first live performance on the Cape to feature music from his last two albums, “Swim Team” and the self-titled “Racing Days,” since both were released during the early months of the pandemic.
