Highfield Hall & Gardens will host a Coral Clay workshop with ceramic artist Courtney Mattison on Saturday, July 10, from 9:30 AM until noon.

Ms. Mattison, the artist behind the ”Turn the Tide” exhibition, currently on view at Highfield, will lead a hands-on clay workshop for families. Ms. Mattison will demonstrate and share techniques for creating clay corals. Participants will have the chance to form different types of corals such as massive coral, branching coral, and foliose coral. In addition, participants will learn about coral reef ecosystems, coral lifeforms and the importance of protecting the reefs.

The workshop is suitable for ages 8 and older. Children ages 12 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All materials will be supplied.

Cost is $40, $30 for members. Pre-registration is required. Visit the hall’s website to register.
