Cape favorites Crooked Coast will headline a Halloween-themed concert Friday, October 25, from 8 PM until midnight at the Coonamessett Ballroom. In addition to live music the evening will include prizes for best costumes and food provided by local vendor Wolf Pizza.
For the past seven years the Falmouth-based band Crooked Coast has been releasing original music and performing concerts locally as well as touring New England and beyond. After producing and headlining a successful music festival this summer the group decided the Coonamessett Ballroom would be the perfect venue for its hometown fall concert.
“Doing a walk-through of the room I could just see the potential,” singer/guitarist Luke Vose said. “It’s this beautiful space with wood floors, chandeliers and a deck overlooking the pond. We are bringing in stage, sound and a wild light show. It’s an opportunity to create a world-class concert experience right in our backyard.”
Local rockers Neon Falls, South Shore reggae act Buddahfly and DJ XP will be opening up the night.
Neon Falls opened for Crooked Coast in an all-ages show this summer at the Community Hall in Woods Hole. Buddahfly hails from Boston and describes its music as a combination of hip-hop, reggae and rock.
During the summers Crooked Coast holds down popular residencies on the Cape and islands, while winters find the group touring the East and West coasts and beyond. The band opened a flagship store in 2017 to keep up with the demand for its apparel and merchandise, which the band designs in house. The Crooked Coast store doubles as an office and creative space where the group hosts art shows and other community events.
Often operating outside of Pie in the Sky in Woods Hole, Wolf Pizza will be selling Neapolitan pizzas made fresh in its mobile, wood-fired oven.
The event is sponsored by Loud Fuel, Livin’ EZ and MOCEAN.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at crookedcoast.com or John’s Liquor Store in Falmouth. The Halloween bash is a 21-plus event.
