The Cotuit Center for the Arts will be receiving entries for the open juried exhibition “Abstraction” on Monday, October 4, from 10 AM to 4 PM.

This is the center’s first juried exhibit dedicated to abstract art. All media are invited and encouraged. The exhibition will be on view from October 9 through November 13. An opening reception will take place on October 9 from 3 to 5 PM.

Up to three works per artist may be submitted. There is no size limitation; 2D and 3D work will be accepted. Fees are $10 per piece for members of the center, $15 per piece for nonmembers.

All works must be gallery ready. Work cannot be withdrawn before the end of the exhibit. Judging will be based on creativity and originality, emergence of a personal vision or voice, presentation and overall impression. Cotuit Center for the Arts reserves the right not to select and/or display anything it views as unsuitable.

The center will retain a 40 percent commission on all exhibition sales. Unsold artwork must be removed on Monday, November 15, between 10 AM and 4 PM.

The submission form for “Abstraction: An Open Juried Exhibition,” is available through the center’s website or by calling 508-428-0669.
