The Falmouth Theatre Guild will hold auditions for leading roles in its fall production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Carousel” on May 19, 20 and 22 at the Highfield Theatre, 58 Highfield Drive in Falmouth.

The group is excited to return from what it had dubbed “the longest intermission ever,” with the Falmouth Theatre Guild premiere of this beloved show. “Carousel” will open the guild’s season on October 22, running through November 7.

The show’s five leads (Billy, Julie, Carrie, Enoch, Nettie) are being cast early, so that those cast members will have early access to rehearsal tracks and the director can plan extra time to work with them over the summer; the remaining roles will be cast in August. These auditions will be held individually to maximize the safety of actors and production staff.

To register for an audition time, send an email to by Monday, May 17. In the email, list any and all timeframes available within the following dates: Wednesday and Thursday, May 19 and 20, between 6 and 9 PM, and Saturday, May 22, between 2 and 5 PM. Replies will include appointments for individual audition slots.

Information on the show, characters, and audition prep materials can be found on the guild’s website

Note that it will be Falmouth Theatre Guild’s policy that all members of its shows’ production teams including cast, musicians and stage crew be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to participation in a show for the 2021-2022 season. The guild will not require that actors auditioning in May be vaccinated before those audition dates, but be aware that it will be a requirement for participation in the show this fall.
