Piece-by-Piece IV, a collaborative project involving more than 140 artists working separately to create a single large-scale artwork, will be revealed at a reception for the installation tomorrow from 5 to 7 PM. Even the artists themselves have no idea what the final piece will look like until the installation.

Each artist received a 15 x 15-inch blank panel along with a three-inch square section randomly selected from an iconic painting. The artists, using any medium, replicated their part of the puzzle onto their 15 x 15-inch panels.

At the reception the 140 separate pieces will be joined together to form an artwork that is 12½ feet high by 17½ feet wide.

All 140 panels will be available for purchase for $100 each (50 percenr goes to CCA, 50 percent to the artist).

Piece-by-Piece IV runs from tomorrow to July 28.

Cotuit Center for the Arts is at 4404 Route 28. Admission to the reception is free.
