Cotuit Center for the Arts will present “Fully Committed” by Becky Mode, June 6 to 23, in the Black Box Theater. Performances are on Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 4 PM. Ruthe Lew directs.

Ari Lew stars in this devastatingly funny one-act play that follows a day in the life of Sam Peliczowski, an out-of-work actor who mans the red-hot reservation line at Manhattan’s number-one restaurant. The versatile Lew plays 40 wildly diverse callers, among them the harried, but even-tempered Sam, a chef who bullies him, a chipper assistant to Gwyneth Paltrow, an imposing socialite, and other New York types who stop at nothing in their zeal to land a prime reservation or the right table. Coercion, threats, bribes, and histrionics are just the beginning.

“Fully Committed” opened off-Broadway at the Vineyard Theater in 1999.

Tickets are $20, $15 for members and can be purchased through CCftA’s website or by calling 508-428-0669.

Cotuit Center for the Arts is at 4404 Route 28 in Cotuit.
