Jane Yolen pays homage to the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower’s arrival with the new picture book “Plymouth Rocks! The Stone-Cold Truth.” The book channels the voice of Plymouth Rock itself and is illustrated by Sam Streed.
Ms. Yolen will talk about the new book in a virtual book talk sponsored by the Plymouth Public Library on Sunday, November 22, at 11 AM.
Ms. Yolen is the author of more than 350 books, mostly written for children and young adults, including memorable picture books such as “How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night?” and “Owl Moon,” which won the Caldecott Award in 1988. Ms. Yolen is also the author of “The Devil’s Arithmetic,” a young adult novel in which a present-day Jewish girl who lives in New Rochelle is sent back in time to experience the Holocaust.
Reservations are required for Sunday’s online event. Visit the Plymouth Public Library’s website to register. Copies of the book are available for purchase through Titcomb’s Bookshop.
