Procession Of Souls

A poetry reading in conjunction with the release of a new book by Falmouth poet Jim Morgan is planned for November 21 at the West Falmouth Library.

The West Falmouth Library will present an afternoon of poetry on Sunday, November 21, beginning at 2 PM. Lead Pencil Poets and One Bird Books present a poetry reading by Eric Edwards, Mary Kane, Jim Morgan, and Judith Benét Richardson on the publication of Mr. Morgan’s new book, “Procession of Souls.”

All attendees are asked to wear masks. Speakers will also be masked except when reading their poems.

Other One Bird Books by local poets include “Door” by Mary Kane; “The Ant and the Map” by Judith Benét Richardson; “Harlequin’s Guitar: A Fable in 67 Improbable Improvisations” by Jim Morgan; and “Little Hours: A Novel” by Lil Copan. These books will be available for purchase at the reading.

Lead Pencil Poets are a group of longtime residents from Falmouth and Woods Hole who have worked together for many years. Together the group has published several chapbooks and given poetry readings. Current members of the group are Eric Edwards, Mary Kane, Jim Morgan, and Judy Richardson. Although they have different styles, members of the group tend to lean toward open-form poetry.

One Bird Books is a Cape Cod-based independent company dedicated to publishing high-quality literary writing.

The West Falmouth Library is at 575 West Falmouth Highway.
