On Tuesday, November 9, the Sturgis Library will welcome local historian Nancy Viall Shoemaker to speak about many of the fascinating women of Barnstable’s past. Among those will be Sturgis’s Anne Maria Hooper Lothrop and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Crocker Nye. The program is free and will begin at 6 PM. Registration is required.
