CCMNH Sharks - Jamison

Greg Skomal will give a presentation on living with sharks on Thursday, September 26, at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. The presentation will be a fundraiser for the museum and the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.

The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster will be hosting Greg Skomal of the Massachusetts Shark Research Program in a presentation titled “Living with White Sharks” on Thursday, September 26, at 6 PM.

The number of white sharks has been rising off the coast of Cape Cod in response to dramatic increases in seal abundance. In 2018 Massachusetts experienced its first fatal shark attack since 1936. The key to reducing negative interactions between white sharks and people is a better understanding of white shark behavior. The presentation will focus on this research.

Dr. Skomal heads up the Massachusetts Shark Research Program, and directs the scientific research on Great White Sharks off the coast of Cape Cod.

The presentation is $50 per person. All proceeds will benefit the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy and the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History’s education programs. Doors will open for wine and cheese at 6 PM. The lecture will be at 6:30 PM. Reservations are required. Tickets are available at
