Author T.M. Murphy

T.M. Murphy, seen here interacting with school children at a creative writing presentation, will be one of four authors who will read from their work on December 13 at the Gallery on Main in Falmouth. Also appearing will be Adam Smith, Kathleen Madden, and Peggy Bushy. The readings will take place from 6 to 7:30 PM.

A local authors night featuring T.M. Murphy, Adam Smith, Kathleen Madden, and Peggy Bushy, will be Thursday, December 13, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Gallery on Main In Falmouth.

All four authors will be reading from their works and will be available following the talk to sign copies of their books which will be available for purchase.

T.M. Murphy is the author of the children’s book series, the Belltown Mystery series, as well as for “Saving Santa’s Seals.” He has received high praise in the publishing industry from being listed on BookSense Children’s 76 as a Favorite New Series and being featured in 101 Highly Successful Novelists; he has also been chosen by Cape Cod Life Magazine as One of the 400 Cape Cod People Who Brighten Our Lives. Mr. Murphy has also teamed up with illustrator Mark Penta to create the Wicked Weird Story Starters series that gets children creating. Mr. Murphy’s passion is motivating children to read and write. He has toured and spoken at hundreds of schools, bookstores and writing conferences. Mr. Murphy has been teaching creative writing privately to children and adults for 24 years at The Writers’ Shack in Falmouth Heights.

Peggy Bushy is the author of “Lewy, Mom and Me – A Caregiver’s Story,” which focuses on the personal story of Ms. Bushy’s mother and her struggle with Lewy body dementia, a degenerative brain disease.

Ms. Bushy’s story covers the beginnings of her mother’s disease, the struggle to find a diagnosis, and Ms. Bushy’s role as caregiver to her mother. The book is meant to help others faced with the uncertainty of this diagnosis to understand the best approach to caregiving and coping.

Ms. Bushy holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in education and allied professions. She has three children and five grandchildren and lives in North Falmouth with her husband, Thomas Bushy.

Kathleen Madden grew up in Falmouth. Her first book, “The Road Back,” shares her journey of perseverance and adventure in hopes of inspiring others to take their own journey toward continued growth. In her book, Ms. Madden recalls learning to ride a motorcycle and taking two solo trips across the United States as part of her grieving and recovery process after the loss of her longtime partner to suicide. The author shares her love of the natural world, and both the beauty and the dangers of highway travel.

Born and raised in New England and now living on Cape Cod, Adam Smith is a graduate cum laude of the University of Arizona, where he studied journalism and German. His novel, “Scabland,” follows the story of Melissa Cohen a former soldier in the Israeli army, Israeli federal agent, police officer, and forensic photographer who is forced into a standoff with a sadistic killer. The book placed as a finalist in the 2018 Independent Author Network Award for Outstanding Suspense/Thriller of the year.

The Gallery on Main is at 317 Main Street in Falmouth.
