The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster will present the PBS documentary “Season of the Osprey” Thursday, March 23, at 11:30 AM.
Narrated by Paul Giamatti the documentary tracks an osprey, having just flown 4,000 miles from the east coast of South America as it soars over a small salt marsh at the delta of the Connecticut River to the place that is imprinted on its memory from birth: the salt marsh where it will rejoin its mate. Foxes, deer and scores of migrating shorebirds bring summer’s hustle and bustle back to the salt marsh as the reunited pair mates and broods their eggs. Over the course of one summer, they fend off enemies, catch hundreds of fish and raise their tiny chicks into the next generation of these consummate sea hawks.
