Winter weather and cozy home displays are among the shows at the Falmouth Art Center this month.
The public is invited to the opening reception for all three shows at the center Friday from 4 to 6 PM.
Appropriate for a January show, “Cape Cod Weather” in the Falmouth Art Center’s Hermann Gallery features more than 60 works, both paintings and photography, by local artists focusing on weather. Stormy scenes, as well as more mild summer, fill the gallery.
In the Landrau-Partan Gallery is a show with the work of students and teachers in the fiber and clay programs at the Falmouth Art Center. Called “Craft in Context,” the show is set up with dining room and living room vignettes featuring handmade fiber art pieces, such as tablecloths, place mats, wall hangings, and even a unique rug, as well as functional and decorative pottery, from mugs and plates to cookie jars and vases.
In the Sigel Gallery will be work by award-winning artist Suzanne M. Packer of Bass River. Her show, “Constants / Changes” features abstract images inspired by Cape Cod.
The Art Center is at 137 Gifford Street in Falmouth.
