The Cape Cod Chorale has announced that, due to the impact of COVID-19, it has extended the application deadline for its Barbara Knight Memorial Scholarship until Saturday, May 30.

The $2,000 scholarship is offered to a graduating senior from one of six high schools—Barnstable High School, St. John Paul II High School, Cape Cod Academy, Mashpee High School, Sandwich High School, or Sturgis High School—who plans to major in music in college. Course of studies can include music education, theory, composition, music management, conducting, music history and performance.

The award is for $500 per year over four years for students in good standing, providing that the music major is still valid and grades indicate diligent commitment. Awardees must reapply each year in college in order to be eligible for continuing support.

Students can obtain an application for this scholarship from the school’s guidance office or music teacher, or download it from the chorale’s website.

The revised deadline for the receipt of all completed application forms and supporting documents, by mail, is May 30. Specific questions should be directed to Kathy Jacobsen at kathrynalice@comcast.net.
