Forty-two Falmouth Art Center members are involved in a special Juried Members Exhibition, which is on view at the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis through January 17, 2021. Realizing that not everyone from Falmouth will likely get to make the trip to Dennis this winter to view the show, Cape Cod Museum of Art director of art Benton Jones made sure to include a complete video record of the show for people to see on the museum’s website.

The site includes 42 videos, one for each Falmouth Art Center member who is in the show. The videos offer a short record of the artwork, plus commentary by the artist.

The idea for the special show came after the Falmouth Art Center executive director Laura Reckford asked Mr. Jones to choose the blue ribbon winners for the Falmouth Art Center’s annual Blue Ribbon show in August. Mr. Jones commented on the strength of the work of the Falmouth Art Center members in the show. That led one of the Cape Museum volunteers to propose a juried show at the Cape Museum for Falmouth Art Center members.

Getting in the show was competitive. A total of 94 artists submitted 188 works, and Mr. Jones chose the 46 works by 42 artists to be included.

Mr. Jones described the show as being “in the spirit of supporting artists and art institutions from all over Cape Cod.”

Some Falmouth Art Center members have been able to travel to the museum in Dennis to see the show in person and others have viewed it from the website.
