Titcomb’s Bookshop invites its patrons to participate in the virtual launch of “In The Heights: Finding Home,” featuring co-authors Lin-Manuel Miranda, Quiara Alegría Hudes and Jeremy McCarter. The event is planned for Tuesday, June 15, from 8 to 9 PM.
Before “Hamilton” became a global phenomenon and Mr. Miranda became a household name, a show called “In the Heights” shook up Broadway with its hip-hop and salsa soundtrack and big, bilingual heart. In the new book “In the Heights: Finding Home,” Mr. Miranda, Ms. Hudes, and Mr. McCarter tell the story of the show’s humble beginnings, from rehearsals in a bookstore basement to the Broadway smash, and soon-to-be feature film, that created an unbreakable community and a new kind of family for everyone involved.
The June 15 book launch promises to be a conversation on creativity, community, finding home and how one neighborhood, Washington Heights, was able to speak to the world.
Tickets start at $42.50 and include admission to the virtual talk and a copy of “In The Heights.” Purchase is through the bookshop’s website.
