The Buzzards Bay Sail & Power Squadron will hold a basic boating class for 12-to-15-year-old boaters who need a Massachusetts Boating Safety Certificate in order to operate a boat without direct adult supervision.

The class will be held over five days, from July 5 to 10. The power squadron will email completed information directly to the state environmental police the day after the course final exam so it can begin processing the boating course completion and issue a Boating Safety Certificate.

Participants will receive a copy of the USPS ABC book, a summary of state boating laws and a US Coast Guard sailboating guide.

The cost is $65. To register, go to www.bbsps.org and mail a competed form and check to Richard Moore, PO Box 1685, Sagamore Beach, MA 02562-1685.
