Baby Deer Rescued

Firefighters rescue a baby deer from the courtyard of a home in Pocasset.

Bourne firefighters rescued a baby deer June 20 at a home on Wing’s Neck Road in Pocasset.

They rescued the deer just before 2 PM. The fawn had gotten trapped in the courtyard of the home at 448 Wing’s Neck Road. Bourne fire officials reported that the deer fell eight feet onto the home’s courtyard.

Deputy Fire Chief Ryan M. Haden and Lieutenant Philip W. Tura rescued the fawn and released the animal back into the wild.
