Candace A. Powers, who joined the Enterprise as social media strategist, is the face and personality behind the Enterprise’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
Originally from Connecticut, Ms. Powers has lived on the Cape for about six years, residing in Cotuit and Bourne before moving to her current residence in Mashpee. She has an associate’s degree from Cape Cod Community College.
A horseback rider and owner of two cats, Ms. Powers enjoys that “the Enterprise is focused on these very insular communities, especially in the wintertime.”
“You learn all sorts of stuff from the locals,” Ms. Powers said.
“Talk to me, that’s what I’m here for,” she says to anyone who may follow the Enterprise on social media.
Ms. Powers said she is especially excited to dig through the Enterprise’s archival collection and has already begun to present the papers’ social media followers with posts linking local history to current events.
“If you have something to say, you can write a letter to the editor,” Powers said, “or you can comment” on any of the Enterprise’s social media platforms. “Tag us in your stuff.”
