A group of Falmouth citizens has formed a Neighborhood Support Team under the aegis of the Shapiro Foundation and Ascentria Care Alliance to offer sponsorship and placement for the resettlement of Afghan families to this community.

An organizational meeting will be held for community groups and volunteers to be part of the reception of Afghan refugee individuals, couples or families to the greater Falmouth community. This will be an informative gathering on how to assist with housing, education, transportation, medical, fundraising, treasurer/finances, et cetera.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 21, at 6:30 PM at the Waquoit Congregational Church, 15 Parsons Lane, East Falmouth. Face masks are required.

Contributions to NST Cape Cod are welcome and 100 percent of money raised will be used to sponsor Afghan families in the resettlement process. Make out checks to: The Waquoit Congregational Church. In the memo field indicate that the contribution is for THE NST Cape Cod. Checks should be mailed to the Waquoit Congregational Church.
