The 2021 Shape Your Cape Summit, taking place virtually over two half-days, April 7 and April 8, is shaping up to be an insightful and inspiring virtual professional conference with the theme of resilience.

The summit provides the Cape's young workforce community with educational and networking opportunities to thrive, personally and professionally, on Cape Cod by convening local employers, community leaders, and concerned citizens who are passionate about advancing local understanding and action around issues that impact opportunity for working-age adults on Cape Cod.

Interactive sessions at this year’s summit include the two-part “Pandemic Pivot” panels, covering how local nonprofits and businesses were able to respond to the challenges of COVID-19, innovate, and thrive in an otherwise difficult year, panels on “Selfcare for the Selfless Professional” and “Standing In Your Power – and How to Utilize It to Make an Impact in Your Community,” a breakout session on “Remote by Design,” a facilitated discussion on “It Takes A Village: Childcare Challenges on the Cape – and Opportunities to Collaborate and Innovate,” and more.

The first day of the summit featured a keynote address from Julie Brown, networking expert, business strategist, podcast host, and author, who will speak on “Networking Your Way to Increased Influence and Success.”

Day one wrapped up with interactive virtual breakout sessions on “Cultivating Resilience” featuring coaches from CCYP’s Laser-Focused Coaching Program. Participants learned techniques and strategies for personal and professional resilience in these challenging times.

Day two is an afternoon session that begins with remarks from State Senator Julian Cyr, followed by a keynote from Jeni Wheeler, co-founder of the Cape Cod Family Table Collaborative, titled “From Reluctant Resilience to Joy – Finding Oneself in a Pandemic.”

Ms. Wheeler will describe how the Family Table Collaborative was conceived and launched to address pandemic-driven food insecurity on Cape Cod – and share how her own personal story and that of the Family Table Collaborative demonstrate resilience in action.
