The following are excerpts from the Bourne Police Logs dated Thursday, August 13, through Tuesday, August 18.

Thursday, August 13

Police were called to a single-car crash on County Road at 1:03 AM. Police said a green 1996 Jeep Cherokee went off the road and crashed into some blue recycling bins and a utility pole. The driver was identified as Erica Lipscomb, 26, from Bourne. Ms. Lipscomb told police that she had fallen asleep at the wheel while driving. Police said she was issued citations for marked lanes violation and operating a motor vehicle to endanger.

Friday, August 14

At 6:32 AM, police made an arrest on Seaview Road in Sagamore Beach. Police said officers went to a residence and arrested Francis J. DiRuscio, 57, on a warrant issued from Falmouth District Court. The warrant charged Mr. DiRuscio with assault with a dangerous weapon-firearm, police said. Mr. DiRuscio was arrested without incident and taken directly to Falmouth District Court following booking, police said.

A drunken driving arrest was made on MacArthur Boulevard at 9:04 PM. Police said they were alerted to an erratic vehicle going north on the highway. Officers saw the gray 2016 Buick Encore pulled off into the breakdown lane. When they checked, they saw the sole occupant, the driver, laying across the center console with his head on the front passenger seat. The suspect was awakened and identified as Roy M. Stuart, 39, from Revere. Officers said Mr. Stuart had a strong odor of alcohol when he spoke and numerous empty and partially consumed nip bottles were seen inside the car. Mr. Stuart claimed to be coming from Medford and also said that he was headed to Medford, police said. Officers determined that Mr. Stuart was too intoxicated to safely attempt a field sobriety test. He was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, third offense; operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license; and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. He spent the weekend at the police station, where he was arraigned by teleconference Monday, police said. Following his arraignment, police said, bail was set at $1,500 and went unpaid. He was sent to the Barnstable County Correctional Facility, police said.

Saturday, August 15

A two-car crash happened at 12:10 PM at the intersection of Head of the Bay Road and Puritan Road in Buzzards Bay. Police said the two cars were going north towards Plymouth on Head of the Bay Road. The driver of a black 2012 Toyota Corolla slowed to turn left, police said. The driver of a white 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck was following too closely and rear-ended the Corolla, police said. The driver of the pickup was identified as Sean Romiza, 27, from Falmouth. Mr. Romiza was cited for failing to yield the right of way and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, police said. Both vehicles were towed, and the driver of the Corolla was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

Sunday, August 16

Police were called to a three-vehicle crash at 5:32 PM on MacArthur Boulevard. Police said the driver of a green 2012 Porsche Cayenne rear-ended a gray 2015 Hyundai Elantra, which then rear-ended a red 2016 Chevrolet Colorado. The crash happened close to the Bourne Bridge Rotary, police said. The driver of the Porsche was identified as MacKenzie Silvia, 27, from Fall River. There were no injuries, police said, but the Hyundai was towed from the scene. Mr. MacKenzie was cited for following too closely, police said.

Monday, August 17

Police made a drug arrest at 8:55 PM on Head of the Bay Road in Buzzards Bay. Police said that officers spotted a white 2007 Audi exit the East Rotary and speed up Head of the Bay Road. The officers followed and saw the car cross over the center line several times. The car was stopped near Puritan Road and as an officer approached the car, the driver was seen attempting to hide something under the driver’s seat, police said. A check of the car’s interior revealed numerous signs of drug paraphernalia, police said. Officers searched the driver, identified as Rachel C. Banas, 37, from Plymouth, and found a cellophane pouch containing Xanax pills. Officers also found a hidden compartment under the driver’s seat with a couple of large bags containing Xanax pills. A check of the car’s trunk revealed drug packaging material, and bags containing pills later identified as Clonidine and hydroxyzine hydrochloride, as well as a small bag of what suspected to be heroin. Ms. Banas was arrested and charged with drug possession; possession to distribute Class C drug; possession of a Class A drug, subsequent offense; and possession of a Class E drug. She was later released on personal recognizance, police said.

Tuesday, August 18

At 4:50 PM, police went to a single-car crash at the intersection of Scenic Highway and Nightingale Pond Road in Buzzards Bay. Police said the driver of an orange 2007 Chevrolet Aveo swerved to avoid a car turning right onto the highway from Nightingale Pond Road. The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as Jose Yat-Ventura, 24, from New Bedford crashed into a traffic sign on the median strip, police said. Mr. Yat-Ventura was not hurt, but his car was towed. He was cited for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said.
