The following are excerpts from the Bourne Police Department logs dated Thursday, January 6, through Monday, January 10.

Thursday, January 6

At 10:32 AM, police were called to Handy Road in Pocasset. Officers encountered a man who had parked his gray 2008 Toyota Tundra truck in the middle of the road and was in the road doing pushups. Police identified the man as Adam Boyer, 45, from New Bedford. Police said Mr. Boyer was clearly under the influence of drugs. He was taken to Falmouth Hospital due to his erratic behavior. Mr. Boyer was later summoned to Falmouth District Court on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Friday, January 7

Police responded at 1:03 AM to a single-vehicle crash at the Bourne Bridge rotary. The driver of a red 2018 Jeep was driving north on MacArthur Boulevard. The driver, identified as Sesan Kassim, 55, from Hillside, New Jersey, was going too fast as he entered the rotary. Mr. Kassim drove across the road and into the grassy area in the middle of the rotary. He also struck a curb and traffic sign. Mr. Kassim was not hurt in the crash, but his vehicle was damaged and had to be towed from the scene. Police cited him for speeding.

At 9:14 AM, police were called to a single-vehicle crash on Scenic Highway. The driver of a white 2008 Toyota Tacoma went off the road while driving east toward Sagamore on the highway. There were heavy snow conditions on the road at the time of the crash, and the truck sustained a flat tire. Police identified the driver as Danielle Gallerani, 31, from Plymouth. Ms. Gallerani was not hurt in the crash, but her truck had to be towed because of the flat tire. Bourne Department of Natural Resources was called to the scene to help with the transport of four cats that were inside the truck. Police cited Ms. Gallerani for driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

Saturday, January 8

An arrest was made at 6:13 PM at the Quality Inn on Trowbridge Road. Officers went to the motel to arrest Steven R. Putney, 40, from Wareham. Mr. Putney had active warrants out of Wareham District Court charging him with trafficking in fentanyl and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Upon entering his room, officers saw narcotics in plain view. Police secured a search warrant and seized cocaine and fentanyl found in the room. Mr. Putney was arrested and held without bail on the two active warrants, as well as possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug and possession of a Class B drug. He was held over the weekend and taken to Falmouth District Court for arraignment on Monday.

Monday, January 10

At 10:58 AM, police responded to reports of a shoplifter at the Market Basket grocery store on Factory Outlet Way. Officers arrived to find that store employees had detained Gilbert Roderick, 53, from Onset. Mr. Roderick had stolen $31 worth of merchandise by concealing the items inside his sweatshirt. He was arrested, and officers also located a small baggie containing either heroin or fentanyl. He was charged with shoplifting by concealing merchandise and possession of a Class A drug. Police took him to Falmouth District Court for arraignment later that day.
