The following are excerpts from the Bourne Police Department logs dated Wednesday, July 31, through Tuesday, August 6.

Wednesday, July 31, 2019

Police responded to a two-car crash on Shore Road at 2:54 PM. Police said that a white 2018 Honda CR-V was going south toward Falmouth when it crossed over the center line and collided with white 2015 Chevrolet Silverado going north. The driver of the Honda was identified as Susan Hirsch, 69, from Bourne. Ms. Hirsch was cited for marked lanes violation and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, police said.

An arrest was made at 2:08 AM following a single-car crash on Frank Road, off Scenic Highway. Police said a black 2007 Saturn Ion crashed in front of a house on Frank Road. When officers arrived at the scene, the homeowner said he saw the driver run from the scene into the woods. Police located the driver, identified as Benjamin T. Jackson, 21, from Pocasset, in the woods. He came out and spoke with the officers who observed signs of intoxication, police said. He failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

Inside the vehicle, police found marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. It was also determined that Mr. Jackson had consumed Adderall. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor; operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, marked lanes violation, and possession of a Class B drug. Bail was set at personal recognizance, but he was unable to pay the $40 administrative fee. He was held and taken to Falmouth District Court later that morning, police said.

At 4:25 PM, police were called to a two-car crash on Scenic Highway. Police said that black 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee was going in the direction of Buzzards Bay when the driver made an illegal U-turn. The Jeep collided with a black 2006 Toyota 4Runner headed toward Sagamore Beach, police said. The driver of the Jeep was identified as Richard Craig, 61, from Hopkinton. A passenger in Mr. Craig’s vehicle had to be taken to a local hospital, police said. Mr. Craig was cited for marked lanes violation and making an illegal U-turn, police said.

Saturday, August 3, 2019

A two-car crash happened at the East Rotary at 3:08 PM. Police said that a gray 1995 Lexus was in the inside lane of the rotary and drifted over to access Scenic Highway. The car collided with a white 2016 Land Rover. The driver of the Lexus was identified as David Rodman, 92, from Manomet. No one was hurt in the crash, police said. Mr. Rodman was cited for marked lanes violation, police said.

At 7:11 PM, an arrest was made on Main Street in Buzzards Bay. Police said an officer on patrol saw Courtney M. Skiffington, 30, from Wareham standing outside the Cumberland Farms. The officer was aware of two warrants out of Falmouth District Court for Ms. Skiffington’s arrest. The warrants charged her with furnishing police with false identification information, and breaking and entering a building nighttime for a felony. She was arrested, and bail was set at $500, police said. Bail was not paid and she was taken to the Barnstable County Correctional Facility to await arraignment the next day, police said.

Police made an arrest on Scenic Highway at 10:15 PM. Police said an officer on patrol saw a brown 2001 Honda Accord cross over the white fog line, return to the travel lane, then cross over the fog line again. The car was stopped and the driver identified as Crystal L. Gentile, 33, from Plymouth. The state Registry of Motor Vehicles confirmed that Ms. Gentile’s license was under suspension, and that she had a warrant out of Falmouth District Court for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense, police said. She was arrested on the warrant charge and charged again with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense. She was later released on personal recognizance, police said.

At 10:53 PM, police made an arrest on MacArthur Boulevard. Police said officers responded to reports of a driver going north on the southbound side of the highway. The driver of a black 2006 Honda Civic had turned left coming out of the Bayview Campgrounds, tried to correct the mistake and wound up in the grassy median, police said. The driver was identified as Brittnie L. Knight, 27, from Tiverton, Rhode Island. Ms. Knight failed a field sobriety test, and officers determined that she had taken a combination of Xanax and alcohol. She was arrested and charged with marked lanes violation, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs. She was later released on personal recognizance, police said.

Officers made an arrest at 8:41 PM. Earlier in the day, officers went to Kingman Yacht Center to meet with three paddleboarders who said they were threatened by a resident who pointed a gun at them. The paddleboarders told police they had gone to shore near Scraggy Neck to put on shirts for protection from the sun. On shore, they noticed several chairs on the beach. The men sat in them and took photos, at which point three other men approached. One of the men, identified as Stephen W. Bisson, 24, from Bourne, had a holstered gun in his hand. Mr. Bisson told the paddleboarders to “get off my property,” police said. Police said the paddleboarders reported seeing Mr. Bisson pull the gun from the holster three times and point it at them. Police said that Mr. Bisson is a licensed firearm owner. Police arrested him later that day and charged him with three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, to wit, a firearm. He was later released on personal recognizance, police said.

A two-car crash occurred at 1:41 PM at the intersection of Cranberry Highway and Adams Street. Police said that the driver of a gray 2006 Audi crashed into the rear of a black 2016 Ford Edge. The Audi went off the road after hitting the Ford and collided with a utility pole, bringing down several wires. Traffic had to be diverted from the area for about an hour, police said. The driver of the Audi was identified as Daniel Patterson, 48, from Wareham. Mr. Patterson was cited for speeding. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, police said.

Police made an arrest at 9:47 AM at the Market Basket in Sagamore. Police said that officers were sent to the store when the manager called and said he had stopped a man from leaving the store without paying for a number of items. The items totaled approximately $35, police said. The man was identified as Vincent S. Fiori III, 61, from Medway. Mr. Fiori was arrested and charged with shoplifting. He was taken directly to Falmouth District Court following booking for arraignment, police said.

At 4:52 PM, police went to a two-car crash on the Route 6 and 28 Bypass Road in Buzzards Bay. Police said that a white 2014 Toyota Rav 4 was in the left lane, and a blue 2010 Ford Escape was in the right lane, both headed toward Wareham. The driver of the Ford Escape went across the entire highway to go into a lot off the eastbound side of the road, and collided with the Toyota, police said. Both drivers had to be taken to local hospitals for treatment of injuries. The driver of the Ford was identified as Diane Charest, 67, from Fitchburg. Ms. Charest was cited for an unsafe lane change, police said.
