The following are excerpts from the Bourne Police Department logs dated Thursday, July 4, through Tuesday, July 9.
Thursday, July 4
An arrest was made at 12:59 AM at the Courtyard Restaurant in Cataumet. Police said officers were conducting a routine check of the business when they heard yelling coming from the parking lot. An employee was attempting to intervene between two men who were arguing and appeared about to get into a fight. One of the men, Jonathan R. Barry, 24, from Scituate, stepped around the employee and shoved the other man. Officers were present and arrested Mr. Barry. He was charged with disorderly conduct. He was later released on personal recognizance, police said.
Friday, July 5
At 1:27 PM, police made an arrest on the northbound side of MacArthur Boulevard. Police said an officer monitoring traffic saw a brown 2005 Nissan Sentra speed around the Otis Rotary. The officer followed and clocked the car going 64 in a 55-miles-per-hour zone, police said. The car was stopped, and a passenger was seen not wearing a safety belt, police said. The passenger was identified as Devon A. Almeida-Paul, 31, from East Falmouth. A check with the state Registry of Motor Vehicles showed that Mr. Almeida-Paul had a warrant out of Falmouth District Court, charging him with aggravated assault and battery, police said. He was arrested and taken directly to Falmouth District Court for arraignment.
Saturday, July 6
Police made an arrest at 12:35 AM on Scenic Highway. Police said an officer on patrol saw a gray 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee driving toward Sagamore Beach. The vehicle drifted over the center line in the road, corrected itself and then crossed over the white fog line, almost hitting the right-side guard rail, police said. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver identified as Mark T. Hyslop, 44, from Plymouth. The officer noticed an open container of rum in the rear of the vehicle, police said. Mr. Hyslop, police said, showed obvious signs of intoxication, and failed a field sobriety test. He was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor, third offense; possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle; and marked lanes violation. He was later released on personal recognizance, police said.
Monday, July 8
At 1:03 PM, police made an arrest on Canal Street in Sagamore Beach. Police said an officer was first dispatched to Adams Street on reports of a man asleep inside a black 2015 Ford Explorer. The vehicle was not there when the officer arrived. A second report came in that the vehicle was on Canal Street, near the old Friendly’s restaurant. When the officer arrived, there was a visible black mark on the road that appeared to have been caused by a damaged right front tire on the Explorer. The vehicle was parked in front of the Sagamore Recreation Area. The driver was identified as Harold E. Smith, 71, from Yarmouthport. Mr. Smith showed signs of inebriation and failed a field sobriety test, police said. He was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and marked lanes violation. He was later released on personal recognizance, police said.

Police responded at 3:43 PM to a single-car crash on the southbound side of MacArthur Boulevard. Police said the driver of a gray Toyota Venza was in the passing lane on the highway, crossed his car over into the travel lane, and it went off the right side of the road. The crash happened near Brigadoon Road, by Falmouth Toyota, police said. No other vehicles were involved, police said, and no one was hurt in the crash. Police said the driver was identified as Mark W. Belcher, 58, from Falmouth. Mr. Belcher was cited for speeding and marked lanes violation, police said.
Tuesday, July 9
At 12:33 PM, police made an arrest on Main Street in Buzzards Bay. Police said a gray 2016 Honda Civic was clocked going 34 in a 25-mph-zone. The car was stopped and the driver identified as Heather B. Murphy, 48, from New Bedford. Police said a check with the RMV indicated that Ms. Murphy had a warrant out of Falmouth District Court, charging her with operating a motor vehicle after her license had been suspended. She was arrested on the warrant charge and taken directly to Falmouth District Court after booking for arraignment, police said.
