The following are excerpts from the Bourne Police Department logs dated Thursday, February 11, through Wednesday, February 17.

Thursday, February 11

At 10:29 AM, police responded to a two-car crash at the intersection of Plymouth Lane and Head of the Bay Road. The driver of a gray 2016 Jeep Cherokee turned left from Plymouth Lane and collided with a white 2015 BMW. The driver of the Jeep was identified as Rafael Uride, 22, from Plymouth. The driver of the BMW was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Police cited Mr. Uride was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign.

An arrest was made at 1:13 PM at the intersection of McAlister Street and Barlows Landing Road. Officers were sent to the area on reports of someone asleep at the wheel of a truck. When officers arrived, they found a white 2015 Silverado in the middle of the intersection. The driver was asleep and, when awakened, showed obvious signs of intoxication. Police identified the driver as Kevin J. Leaf Jr., 36, from Wakefield, Rhode Island. Officers found more than a dozen bottles of Jägermeister and three bottles of Smirnoff Vodka inside the vehicle, all open, and either partially or fully empty. Mr. Leaf failed a field sobriety test and was arrested. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor (fourth or greater offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and a related offense of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor while license was under suspension for OUI-related offense. Bail was set at $2,500 and not paid. Mr. Leaf was held overnight and taken to Falmouth District Court the next morning.

Friday, February 12

Police responded to a two-car crash at the intersection of County Road and Beach Street. The driver of a blue 2017 Ford Explorer attempted to cross County Road from Beach Street onto Clay Pond Road and failed to stop at the stop sign. The Explorer collided with a gray 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. Police identified the driver of the Explorer as Norine Amaral, 61, from Wareham. No one was hurt, but both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Police cited Ms. Amaral for failing to stop at a stop sign.

A two-car crash happened at the intersection of MacArthur Boulevard and Waterhouse Road at 3:18 PM. The driver of a brown 2006 Toyota Avalon attempted to cross MacArthur Boulevard onto Waterhouse Road and collided with a white 2020 Toyota RAV4 going south on the highway. There were no injuries, but both vehicles were towed away. Police identified the driver of the Avalon as Dorothy Goodrich, 91, from Falmouth. Police cited Ms. Goodrich for failing to yield to traffic.

Saturday, February 13

At 5:05 AM, officers stopped a white 2010 Ford Edge on Scenic Highway because the vehicle’s brake lights were not working. The officers determined that the driver, Katherine Durette, 52, from Wareham, had her driver’s license under suspension. Police also observed Ms. Durette speeding before being stopped, and they issued criminal citations for speeding, defective equipment (brake lights) and operating a motor vehicle after license suspension.

Sunday, February 14

Police made an arrest at the intersection of Sandwich Road and Long Boat Road at 9:37 PM. Officers responded to a caller reporting someone passed out at the wheel of a gray 2016 Ford F150 in the parking lot of Gallo Ice Arena. While officers were en route to the scene, the caller reported the driver had left Gallo and was on Sandwich Road headed toward South Sagamore. The officers were able to stop the truck and identified the driver as Julio E. Preza, 37, from Roslindale.

Mr. Preza showed signs of intoxication and failed to pass a field sobriety test. He also admitted to not having a driver’s license, police said. Police arrested him and charged him with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and a marked lanes violation. Bail was set at $500 and was paid.

Tuesday, February 16

At 2:48 PM, officers issued criminal citations for a traffic violation at the East Rotary in Buzzards Bay. Officers saw the driver of a black 2019 Dodge Charger exit Bourne Bridge Approach without stopping for the stop sign and enter the rotary. The car was stopped on Route 25 West, off Cape. Police identified the driver as Kendra Sardinha, 31, from Fall River. Officers also determined that Ms. Sardinha did not have a valid driver’s license. Police issued criminal citations for a stop sign violation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Wednesday, February 17

Criminal citations were issued at 6 AM. An officer ran a query on a blue 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe and determined that the license plates on the vehicle had been canceled. Police stopped the vehicle on Route 25 West and identified the driver as Michael Campagna, 30, from Falmouth. Officers also determined that the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured. Police issued criminal citations for attaching plates, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
