The following are excerpts from the Bourne Police department logs dated Thursday, February 4, through Monday, February 8.
Thursday, February 4
Police made an arrest at a home on Shore Road at 2:58 PM. Officers were sent to the home in response to a domestic issue. They determined that one of the involved individuals, Jonathan W. Perry, 37, from Bourne, had two active warrants. One warrant charged Mr. Perry with larceny under $1,200 and the other warrant was for a third offense of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs. He was later released on personal recognizance.
Friday, February 5
At 9:48 PM, police responded to a two-car crash at the East Rotary in Buzzards Bay. The driver of a gray 2019 Hyundai Sonata was entering the rotary from Main Street and sideswiped a red 2014 GMC Sierra. Police identified the driver of the Sonata as Mongkhon Phondongkok, 31, from Bourne. Police cited Mr. Phondongkok for failing to yield to traffic.
Saturday, February 6
Police made an arrest was made on Bourne Bridge Approach in Buzzards Bay at 5:47 PM. An officer on patrol on Scenic Highway was going in the direction of Main Street. The officer saw a gray 2018 Kia Forte weaving in and out of traffic. The car was clocked going 78 in a 50-mph zone. Police stopped the car and identified the driver as Rafael O. Roman, 61, from New Bedford. Mr. Roman showed signs of impairment, police said, and failed a field sobriety test. The officer at the scene found a plastic cup in the car’s center console that contained alcohol. Police arrested Mr. Roman and charged him with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, speeding, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation. He was later released on personal recognizance.
Sunday, February 7
At 4:45 PM, police were called to the scene of a hit-and-run crash on Sandwich Road. The driver of a green 2014 Chevrolet Cruze was exiting the driveway of a private residence. The driver turned right to head toward Sandwich but crossed over the center line in the road and collided with a gray 2011 Nissan Altima headed toward the Bourne Bridge rotary. The driver of the Cruze, identified as James Cronin, 59, from Sandwich, drove away from the scene. No one was hurt in the collision, which caused minor damage. Police later identified Mr. Cronin and cited him for leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.
Monday, February 8
Police recovered a car stolen in Danvers and located on Beach Street. At 2:10 AM, police received a 911 call from Sirius XM reporting that a stolen black 2017 Infiniti had been located in Bourne. Officers were dispatched to 10 Beach Street where the car had been left. There was no damage done to the car. It was towed from the scene for return to its owner, who lives in Lynn. Bourne police said there is a suggestion that the person who took the car is an acquaintance of the owner and that any further investigation into the matter is under the authority of the Danvers Police Department.
