Traffic around the Bourne Rotary was tied up for about an hour Saturday, September 14 after a motorcycle driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed on Sandwich Road.

The motorcycle driver and his passenger were taken to Tobey Hospital in Wareham, a Bourne Fire Department spokesman said, adding that the injuries were not life-threatening.

The hospital declined to give out any information.

Bourne police said the driver was traveling eastbound on Sandwich Road shortly before 11 AM. He was between Upper Cape Technical School and the Gallo Ice Arena when he lost control of the motorcycle in stop-and-go traffic.

Rescue workers closed off one lane of Sandwich Road for about 30 minutes while the scene was cleared, police said.
