Concrete Blocks On Train Tracks

Police are looking for the culprits who put these concrete blocks on the tracks in Buzzards Bay.

Massachusetts State Police are searching for the individuals who moved five large blocks of concrete on the train tracks in Buzzards Bay.

State police reported that the concrete blocks were placed on the tracks in the vicinity of Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

A train operator spotted the concrete blocks on the tracks shortly before 9 AM Thursday, January 9. The operator was going slowly enough that the train could be stopped before hitting the blocks, police said.

No injuries have been reported.

Police said that some of the blocks weighed up to 200 pounds. Reportedly, the blocks helped to secure a tent that was used during Cape Cod Central Railroad’s annual Christmas Train event during the holiday season.

State police said that the incident remains under investigation.
