A fall from a ladder at the Aptucxet Trading Post in Bourne has resulted in one man being transported under a trauma alert to a New Bedford Hospital.

The victim has been identified as Galon L. (Skip) Barlow. Mr. Barlow serves on the Bourne Board of Health and chairs the Bourne South Side Fire Station Feasibility and Design Building Committee. He is also vice president of the Bourne Historical Society and the owner of Barlow’s Clam Shack on Scenic Highway.

Paramedics were called to the area around 11 AM on Friday, October 29.

It is unknown how far he fell, but he was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford to be treated for potentially traumatic injuries.

His current condition was not immediately available.
