Massachusetts Maritime Academy is planning to open up its campus when the new school year begins in September.
The school has been operating on a remote learning model since March as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
In a message to the Class of 2024, Thursday, May 7, school president Rear Admiral Francis X. McDonald told the freshmen that they should be proud of everything they have accomplished.
“Being able to make changes based on the winds will serve you well at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, as well as in life,” he said.
He went on to say that this fall the campus will be open again, albeit with contingency plans in place in regard to the coronavirus. Regardless of the plans that need to be made, he said, the school will be open for business and ready to welcome cadets to the campus.
“I’ll see you in the fall, and go Bucs!” Admiral McDonald said in closing.
