Rollover Crash Main Street Buzzards Bay

A car rests on its roof along Main Street in Buzzards Bay after the driver hit a roadside boulder, causing the car to flip.

A rollover crash resulted in a man being sent to the hospital.

The crash happened just after noon on Main Street in Buzzards Bay Thursday, July 11. Bourne Police Lieutenant Jonathan R. MacDougall said that officers were dispatched at 12:04 PM to the area of 260 Main Street, near the Bourne Bridge Guns and Ammo store.

When officers arrived, they saw that a white 2018 Ford Escape had rolled over on the eastbound side of the road, headed in the direction of Belmont circle. Lt. MacDougall said the driver went off the side of the road to the right and hit a decorative boulder, causing the car to flip.

The single occupant, the driver, was a male, Lt. MacDougall said. The victim was taken to a local hospital, he said. The lieutenant did not specify the nature of the victim’s injuries.

The driver’s name was not released because the crash is still under investigation, Lt. MacDougall said.
